Choosing You! Retreats
Retreats offer a safe and nurturing environment in which we can get away from the daily stress of our lives and fully engage in individual and group learning. In these retreats, we use improvisation, movement, writing, drawing, dialoguing, reflection, visualization, storytelling and group discussion to explore the role of food and weight in our lives. These creative methods also facilitate the opening up of many new possibilities around how we engage in the world, with food, our weight and our bodies. Through understanding patterns of how we use food in our lives, we can begin to change these patterns to better meet our needs.
In these weekend retreats, we develop a strong sense of community that continues for many following the retreat, through participation in monthly eating support groups as well as an online community so that participants feel supported by others addressing their challenges and struggles in their day to day lives. The retreat also affords us many opportunities, through meals and snacks, to eat consciously together and learn in a deeper and deeper way, how to nourish ourselves both through food as well as through other means, like connections with others, movement, creativity. These two day intensives typically run from Saturday mornings through Sunday evenings and include an overnight.
