Choosing You! Workshops
Many of us feel that our worries around food and our bodies keep us from engaging fully in our lives. Many feel we are "bad" or "out of control" when we binge eat and/or eat forbidden foods. Ironically, we aren't even able to enjoy the forbidden foods because of guilt! In this one day workshop on conscious eating, we explore how to overcome overeating, live more freely and fully in our bodies through conscious eating, visualization and body image activities.
You will find by Choosing You, you can eat what you want to eat, when you want to eat it, how you want to eat it and enjoy it at the same time! You'll begin to learn how to appreciate and listen to your body's cues and to discern between when food "beckons" vs. "hums". Ultimately, learning to eat consciously will free up your life from constant thoughts and worries about food, help you enjoy food more fully and, be more present in all parts of your life.
You Will Learn Concrete Strategies For:
- Choosing what you want to eat and learning to stop when you are full
- Enjoying your food and eating environment more fully
- Listening to your body for cues of what it needs
- Being kind and caring to all parts of you
We will:
- Reflect on our internal beliefs about food and our bodies
- Practice conscious eating through a food awareness exercise
- Visualize a life free of food and body worries
